Steve Yzerman honored...

January 2nd, 2007. A day to remember in the NHL history books. The Detroit Red Wings organization held a ceremony honoring the accomplishments of Steve Yzerman and retiring his #19 Jersey. This means that no Detroit Red Wing player will ever wear #19 again. The ceremony was held before the game at the Joe Louis Arena where the Detroit Red Wings played the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

It was a really good ceremony. Very impressive career for Steve Yzerman. I knew of most of his accomplishments... But when they are all put together at the same time... Wow! What a career. And he is staying on with the Red Wings as part of the organization management. Read more about it by visiting the TSN website.

To top it off, The Red Wings won the game against the Ducks. The final score was 2-1.
